​My primary research focuses on the mechanism and control of translation initiation in eukaryote cells in health and disease. My lab is investigating the role of translational control in development; learning and memory; cancer development, autism, neurodegenerative disease, and virus infections. My lab has made significant contributions in identifying key components that regulate mRNA translation and how misregulation of these components lead to development of the aforementioned diseases.
